(2)   What makes MCM Tours different to other Internet based operators?

By booking with MCM Tours, you are dealing with a company that still recognises what it means to deal with people as persons and not just statistics or objects, in a rush to make profit. We are from this region and pride ourselves on showing the general human decency that emanates from our people. We know no other way to treat you than as a human being, deserving respect and service. That way we will not only be profitable, but will also feel good about serving our fellow man.

(3)   What is the easiest way to travel around the region?

Inter-Caribbean travel is best done by air, though some travel is possible by boat.

(4)   How easy is it to get around in the island I am visiting?

Depending on personal preferences one can choose between self-drive rented vehicles, taxis, public transportation (buses or vans depending on the island), and private tour vans or buses for group tours / transportation.

You will need a special permit to drive. These permits are usually issued by police stations and some hired car companies for a small fee and the presentation of your own driver's licence issued in your home country.

(5)   What type of travel documents do I need in the Caribbean?

This can vary from island to island, but a valid passport is the best form of travel document. US citizens may be allowed to use their driver's licence in a few islands. This notwithstanding, it is advisable that as a US citizen, you acquire a passport if you have none, because effective December 2006, it will be required for your re-entry to the USA.

Please contact your country's embassy or consulate in the island(s) you wish to travel to for more details. Airlines also provide such information.

(6)   How does the reservation procedure work?

Find the accommodation you prefer and either book it online or call us. We will normally confirm reservations within 48 hours, however many reservations will be confirmed within just a few hours and often within a matter of minutes of contacting us, depending on the circumstances and the details.

Confirmation documents will usually be sent as an email attachment that can simply be printed and presented when you are checking in.

(7)   Do I have to pay by credit card?

By making a credit card payment, you enable us to immediately commence working on confirming the reservation request. We accept VISA and MasterCard. We also accept wire transfers, money orders and bank drafts, however it must be borne in mind that reservations will only be confirmed when the deposit is actually received by us and confirmed by our bank. In the case of reservations for villas, wire transfers are definitely preferred.

(8)   Can I cancel my vacation if my plans change?

Cancellations can be done; however, a cancellation is subject to the cancellation policy of the particular property with which you are booked and/or such additional policies that are outlined to you by us in writing or on this website. You should check the cancellation policy for any booking you make. This can be done online or by checking with one of our travel representatives.

    (11)   What is the minimum stay for a booking in the islands you offer?

The minimum stay varies according to the property with which the booking is being made. Most properties also have different minimum stay requirements in their low and peak periods. Villas tend to have longer minimum stay policies than do hotels.

    (12)   Can I book and confirm my reservation online?

We allow you to make reservation requests online or on the telephone. However, we do not currently allow confirmation of such reservation requests online real time. We have adopted this approach in an effort to ensure that all of our customers get exactly what they are looking for and to be absolutely sure about room availability. To provide this assurance we secure a written confirmation from the property after which we confirm availability with you. This way we avoid the situation that sometimes occurs, where online systems show availability even though the requested accommodation is already booked and confirmed to someone for the required dates.
